SHE Manager (Contract)
Longford, Ireland
Full Time - On Site
3-6-Month Duration (Potential for Extension)

We're recruiting a SHE Manager for a leading frozen food manufacturer, supporting one of their key production sites in Longford, Ireland. The site employs around 100 people, with a small number of agency staff (including contract cleaners and engineers), and operates a largely automated bakery and packing process. The facility produces a range of ingredients and runs five-day bakery operations, permanent night packing, and a busy goods-in/goods-out stores function.

This is a hands-on role sitting on the site leadership team, covering health, safety, and environmental management across a 24/7 operation that includes continuous engineering, preventative maintenance, and multi-shift cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership across bakery, packing, stores, engineering, and cleaning operations
  • Review and refresh safe systems of work (SSoW), risk assessments, and all related procedures, ensuring full closure and follow-through
  • Drive improvements in safety culture, ensuring every manager takes ownership of health and safety within their area
  • Maintain and update safety trackers, coordinating regular reviews and ensuring actions are completed
  • Support environmental compliance relating to installations, waste, and site operations
  • Work closely with the Production Manager, Engineering Manager, HR Business Partner, Quality, and wider site leadership team
  • Provide both on-floor engagement and administrative oversight to ensure a consistent and practical SHE approach

Candidate Profile

  • Proven SHE experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
  • Ability to engage effectively at all levels-from shop floor teams to senior leadership
  • Strong knowledge of SSoW, contractor management, and risk assessments, with the ability to "reset" and embed robust processes
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable operating within a highly automated but people-dependent production environment
  • Able to influence behavioural and cultural improvements across multiple departments
  • Experience supporting 24/7 engineering and multi-shift operations beneficial
