Sustainability Advisor
Teesside, North East England | £45,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the largest Principal Contractors in the UK to recruit a Sustainability Advisor. This role will be working on a variety of large-scale construction projects across Yorkshire and the North East, including the expansion of a high-tech manufacturing facility, advising employees and contractors of all levels on a broad range of sustainability issues. This is a great opportunity to join an established sustainability team within an industry leading organisation.
This position offers hybrid working.
Responsibilities for the Sustainability Advisor will include:
- Ensuring the delivery of the sustainability policy, and compliance with legislation and regulations across a range of diverse projects
- Conducting site visits and audits, working closely with the project teams and supply chains, to help support the development of the sustainability strategy
- Working with the wider project teams on matters regarding BREEAM to help achieve certifications, and reporting progress and findings back to the design teams
- Act as a main point of contact for the environmental sustainability program with key stakeholders including clients, contractors and regulators
The successful Sustainability Advisor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within construction, civil engineering or related industries
- Ideally a degree in a relevant Sustainability or Environmental related subject
- Excellent communications skills with proven experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
- A strong technical knowledge across relevant sustainability legislation, compliance, and regulations
