We have been engaged by a high-profile construction company to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Manager to join the team. The organisation is a global leader in their niche field within the construction space and this role will lead the team to ensure Health and Safety is successfully delivered across the organisation. This role will be predominately based out of Derby with occasional site travel. The client has grown a very competent Health and Safety culture and are looking for the successful candidate to build on this.
Responsibilities of the Senior Health and Safety Manager will include:
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation on sites and keeping up to date with policies and procedures
- Helping with the implementation of the Health and Safety strategy on sites, working closely with the client and contractors ensuring Health and Safety best practice
- Influencing, engaging, and coaching key internal and external stakeholders to effect change
- Constantly assessing opportunities for improvement and sharing best practice across the organisation
The successful Senior Health and Safety Manager will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally in construction, civil engineering or a related industry
- NEBOSH/NCRQ certificate (or equivalent) and membership of IOSH, Ideally working towards/hold NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma
- Experience in influencing and engaging with senior management
- Excellent communications skills with proven experience of engaging with a range of stakeholders
- A positive and pragmatic attitude to problem solving within health and safety
