We're supporting a leading organisation in a high risk sector to recruit a Process Safety Specialist for their complex site in Tilbury. The company is a recognised innovator in their field, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement across all operations involving high-hazard materials.
This role is part of the risk and compliance team, providing coordination and support as the key contact for process safety. You'll work closely with production, engineering and project teams to carry out risk assessments, lead process safety reviews, develop fire strategies, and ensure alignment with lower tier COMAH regulations.
Responsibilities of the Process Safety Specialist will include:
- Working with the team on process safety activities across the site, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Conducting risk assessments and ensuring safety-critical tasks meet legal and company standards
- Supporting teams in developing safe processes and providing input during change management
- Working with the Head of Health and Safety to implement group process safety standards
The ideal Process Safety Specialist will have:
- Experience in a high-hazard environment, ideally with some experience in a chemical environment
- Familiar with risk assessment techniques and some exposure working with external regulators would be ideal
- A relevant qualification across engineering, chemistry or a related field
