Principle Safety Consultant (Process Safety)
Birmingham (home-based role with UK-wide travel)
Circa £65,000 plus expensed travel
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the world's leading consultancies, specialising across the infrastructure, and engineering space, who are expanding their team across the UK. They are looking to bring onboard a new Principle Safety Consultant to lead a number of projects and clients across a vast portfolio that need guidance from a process safety standpoint. Some of the industries that this role will engage in are oil & gas, storage & distribution, energy, renewables, and government.
The company have offices all over the UK, with their main hubs covering some of the UK's major cities, but this will be a home-based role with nationwide travel.
Responsibilities of the Principle Safety Consultant will include:
Leading on the delivery of process safety assignments (DSEAR, COMAH, LOPA, HAZOP, etc.).
Application of leadership capabilities to achieve and surpass client expectations
Managing numerous client relationships (overseeing cost effectiveness, quality performance, and other vital key performance indicators)
Working with the wider Process Safety team (consultants, managers, and engineers) to provide best practice for clients
Ensuring that Process Engineering and Process Safety Engineering trends and legislation is kept up to date with, and delivered across the team accordingly
The successful Principle Safety Consultant will have:
Experience in planning and supporting hazard workshops e.g., ISD, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Bowtie, ALARP.
Experience in consequence modelling software for studies such as Concept Safety Evaluations, Fire Hazard Analysis or QRA.
Experience across a range of Process Safety areas; including Process Engineering Design- Front End Studies-Detailed Design, Plant support and troubleshooting, verification for new projects and existing assets, supporting Hazard Studies, HAZOP, LOPA including attendance, Area Classification and DSEAR, COMAH support
Excellent entrepreneurial and communication skills
Experience working in process and / or energy related industries
Motivated and driven to meet and surpass KPI's on a consistent basis
Security Clearance would be beneficial
