Health and Safety Consultant
Lancaster
£400 per day (Outside IR35)
An exciting new role has arisen with a large public sector organisation who are going through a major change program. This role is expected to be an initial 6-month contract, with an immediate start. There is an expectation to be onsite in Lancaster 3 days per week, however, accommodation or travel expenses could be covered for the right candidate.
The primary focus of this contract is to review the current health and safety policies for the organisation. Identifying gaps and then working proactively with senior management on improvement strategies and future planning for health and safety across the organisation.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Consultant will include:
- Reviewing the current Health and Safety policies and assessing if they are fit for purpose
- Creating new policies where required with an associated roadmap for implementation
- Making recommendations for improvement and delivering new initiatives for the Health and Safety function moving forward
The successful Health and Safety Consultant will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role with public sector experience - ideally within property, hospitality, leisure, education or similar
- Strong project management experience with a keen eye for detail and a track record of project delivery
- A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation
