Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a well-established civil engineering contractor to support the delivery of key infrastructure works across London and the South East. The role will focus primarily on civil and utilities projects for major water providers, operating within long-term framework arrangements. They have built a strong reputation for quality delivery, professional standards, and consistent framework performance.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:
- Working closely with the health and safety team and senior management, ensuring the health and safety management system is implemented effectively
- Visiting sites, auditing health and safety performance and acting as the primary point of contact on health and safety matters
- Accurately reporting on health and safety performance and communicating this across the organisation
- Investigating incidents and supporting effective close-out actions
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction, utilities or civil engineering environments
- Experience managing health and safety on sites with deep excavations and underground services
- NEBOSH General / Construction qualifications or equivalent
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence site teams and promote safe working practices
- Working knowledge of underground services is essential
