Health and Safety Advisor

Day rate - £350 (Inside IR35)
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a well-established chemical manufacturing company to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. This role will work as part of the wider Health and Safety team reporting into the Global Health and Safety Lead. The organisation has an excellent track record for health and safety and this role will play a key role in the successful delivery of Health and Safety strategy across the site.
Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:
- Ensuring the facilities are fully compliant with both UK legislation and the global strategy for health, safety and environment
- Providing specialist technical and administration support, covering all mechanical equipment and hard facilities across the site
- Auditing safety, health, and environmental performance, accurately reporting and investigating incidents and near misses
- Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally within a related manufacturing, engineering, Chemical or High Hazard environment
- NEBOSH or NCRQ Certificate and membership of IOSH
- Pragmatic approach and good problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging clients, staff, and contractors
