Fire Safety Officer
Salary: Circa £37,000 + Excellent Benefits
Location: Carlisle OR Lancaster
Irwin and Colton have been engaged on an exciting new opportunity with a leading Northwest based University, who are looking to hire a Fire Safety Officer to join their growing team, reporting directly into the Health and Safety Manager. This role will involve the management of fire safety policies, management systems and creating a positive Fire Safety culture across the numerous campuses, liaising with various members of the faculty.
Responsibilities of the Fire Safety Officer will include:
- Proactive implementation and oversight of all fire safety measures across the University property portfolio.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to inform University policy, legislation, best practice and procedure.
- Developing, maintaining and reviewing implementation of the University Fire Safety management arrangements and fire risk assessments, ensuring legal compliance
- Providing fire safety advice to Estates and Property, including capital programme leads, and assisting in the development of building fire strategies
The successful Fire Safety Officer will have:
- NEBOSH Fire certificate
- NEBOSH General (Prefrerred)
- Experience of a similar role in large/complex organisation
- Competent in performing Fire Risk Assessment across a multi-site organisation
- Strong written communication skills (familiar with variety of risk assessments)
- Systematic and reliable approach to work
