Environment and Sustainability Manager

Circa £50,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance
We're delighted to be working with a high-profile civil engineering company, to recruit an Environment and Sustainability Manager. Turning over in excess of £500m, the company work on long-term infrastructure projects throughout the UK, and the sustainability agenda is at the at the core of each project. The successful candidate will be working closely with a prestigious client, leading Environment and Sustainability on one of their major civil engineering projects, which will be running for a number of years. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leader in their field, gaining client interface and project management exposure.
This a site-based role. Living away support is available if required.
Responsibilities for the Environment and Sustainability Manager will include:
Implementing sustainability initiatives in line with the client's commitments, across topics such as energy management, carbon reduction and waste management
Ensuring compliance with environmental and energy management systems, (ISO 14001, ISO 50001), and managing secondary consents for the project
Engaging with a range of key stakeholders including contractors, clients and regulatory bodies
Scanning for areas of improvement and promoting best practice throughout the site
The successful Environment and Sustainability Manager will have:
Proven experience in a similar role ideally within construction, civil engineering or related field
Qualified in an appropriate environmental discipline, and ideally hold a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
Ideally experience working closely with clients on site, managing a range of environmental and sustainability issues and initiatives
Excellent communications skills with proven experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
