Environment and Sustainability Advisor
Basildon with National site travel | £50,000 + Car Allowance
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a large, well-known, civil engineering contractor to recruit an Environment and Sustainability Advisor. This role will be working across a variety of major projects, working closely with the Head of SHEQ to ensure best practice across the sites, and wider company. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Environmental and Sustainability professional who is looking to develop their career further with a leader in the industry.
Responsibilities of the Environment and Sustainability Advisor will include:
- Engaging across the site, ensuring the delivery of the environmental policy, and compliance with legislation and regulations across a wide range of diverse infrastructure projects
- Undertaking audits and inspections of sites, constantly scanning and identifying areas for improvement, reporting on the findings and delivering training where required.
- Acting as the main point of contact for the environmental sustainability program with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulators.
The successful Environment and Sustainability Advisor will have:
- Demonstrable environmental and sustainability experience, ideally within construction, infrastructure, utilities, civils or related sector.
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline
- Ideally hold a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
- A passion for excellence, and an ambition to grow and develop a career within the environmental space.
The role will involve the communication of ideas throughout the organisation, therefore the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential. The position will involve regular travel, therefore a UK drivers' licence is essential.
