Energy and Sustainability Manager
Reading | £45,000 to £54,000 Plus Excellent Benefits
Irwin and Colton are excited to be partnering with a leading university to recruit for an Energy and Sustainability Manager to join their growing team. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring they deliver on their ambitious net zero targets and ensure they continue to be a leader in environment and sustainable development.
Responsibilities of the Energy and Sustainability Manager will include:
- Assisting on the development of the Net Zero Carbon strategy along with wider programs and implementing action points throughout the university
- Identifying areas of improvement and providing solutions within energy, carbon, water and cost reductions
- Ensuring accurate reporting and communicating this across the organisation
- Engaging with a range of key stakeholders across the Estates department as well as wider staff including the Head of Schools and Directorate on energy and sustainability matters
The successful Energy and Sustainability Manager will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally within the public sector, property, facilities management, university or related field
- Ideally a degree in Environment, Sustainability or related subject and ideally relevant professional membership e.g. IEMA / EI
- Excellent communications skills with proven experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
- A strong technical knowledge across energy and decarbonisation.
