Senior Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager
Wigan | £70,000-£80,000 + Car and Benefits
Irwin & Colton has been engaged by a high-profile Tier 1 organisation to recruit a Senior SHEQ Manager within their Energy infrastructure Division. The role is focused on leading a team of national team of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Advisors to ensure the successful delivery of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality strategy. The organisation has long term contracts with the largest Gas utility projects in the UK. Health and safety performance being a central priority to this organisation.
Responsibilities for the Senior SHEQ manager will include:
Leading a national team ensuring the implementation of health, safety, environment and quality policies and procedures on site
Keeping updated with key changes to legislation and ensuring the organisation remains compliant
Engaging with senior managers, clients and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related enquires
Continually developing and reviewing the health and safety management system in line with industry best practice
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in a similar role within civil engineering and utilities, ideally with gas works experience.
A NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or NVQ 5 (or equivalent) and membership of IOSH ideally at Charted level
The ability to influence and engage key internal and external stakeholders
A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
