Irwin and Colton have been engaged to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor for a leading Tier 1 Principal Contractor, delivering major construction and engineering projects across the Southeast and Southwest. The organisation is renowned for its technical excellence, long-term project pipeline and strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a foundation in health and safety who's eager to learn, develop, and progress their career. The role covers a regional area and will include regular travel.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:
- Visit site, provide advice on health, safety and fire-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards
- Conducting accident and incident investigations, preparing accurate reports
- Undertaking audits and inspections across multiple sites, identifying areas for improvement
- Supporting the rollout of key safety initiatives across the organisation
- Delivering training on major risk topics, safe working practices and organisational life-saving rules
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:
- Experience in a similar health and safety role ideally from within construction or a related high-risk industry
- Understanding of UK regulations (LOLER, Work at Height, CDM, Asbestos, Manual Handling, COSHH, etc.)
- NEBOSH Certificate, NVQ or equivalent
- Experience delivering training and engaging effectively would be an advantage
