Head of Health and Safety

Irwin and Colton has been engaged on a new opportunity to recruit for a well-established housing organisation that has over 20,000 properties across the UK. The position they are looking to bring onboard is a new Head of Health and Safety to integrate with the wider Senior Leadership team to drive a positive health and safety and facilities strategy, implementing a strong culture across the organisation.
This role will be managing a team of Health and Safety professionals, as well as leading the Facilities Management department as well.
Responsibilities of the Head of Health and Safety will include:
Leading on the development and maintenance of the health and safety management systems, policies, procedures, and safety accreditations.
Leading on the communication of health and safety activities and training across the business for colleagues at all levels
Visiting various sites across the UK given to ensure the team are conducting relevant accident investigations reporting, inspections, and answer any health and safety related queries raised
Ensuring the team are accurately analysing and reporting on health and safety performance and communicating this across the organisation
The successful Head of Health and Safety will have:
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOSH
Proven health and safety experience within the wider property space, ideally within housing/residential or facilities management (experience/knowledge in construction environments is a plus)
Good communications skills and a positive and pragmatic attitude to problem solving within Health and Safety
The candidate must have a driving licence and happy with UK-wide travel
