Environmental Manager
Sittingbourne, Kent
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 + Benefits
We are pleased to be working with a well-regarded energy from waste organisation to recruit an Environmental Manager. This will be joining an established environment team, and will be responsible for all environmental matters at their Sittingbourne plant, working closely with the Plant Manager and the site team to ensure best practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to both take the lead on site, as well as continue professional progression, with the developmental support provided by the team and wider company.
Key responsibilities of the Environmental Manager will include:
Ensuring delivery of the Environmental policy and compliance with the latest legislation and regulations, as well as ensuring compliance of all permit applications, including landscape and biodiversity management plans
Managing the environmental monitoring programme for the site
Conducting site audits, seeking opportunities to drive improvements and deliver training if/when required
Acting as a point of contact for all environmental queries on site, with key stakeholders including clients, contractors and regulators
The successful Environmental Manager requires:
Demonstrable Environmental experience, ideally within the energy from waste (EfW) / waste to energy (WtE), power, utilities or related sector
A degree in an Environmental or science based discipline and ideally hold a professional membership with a recognised Environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWM)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
