Environment and Sustainability Manager
Location: Chester
Salary Circa: £50,000 + Car Allowance, Bonus and Excellent Flexible Benefits Scheme
We are pleased to have been engaged by a leading multinational logistics and transport business to recruit an Environment and Sustainability Manager. The role will be responsible for managing Environment and Sustainability targets and initiatives for two large manufacturing sites and will play an important role across the wider business.
Key responsibilities of the Environment and Sustainability Manager will include:
- Developing and driving the site sustainability strategy, including carbon & waste reduction initiatives, influencing decision making and best practice
- Managing and monitoring the working environment, ensuring compliance with legislation and adherence to ISO14001
- Carrying out site inspections and audits, undertake preliminary environmental assessments and provide environmental training where required
- Proactively seek areas for improvement, working with senior management to continually improve environmental compliance across the site
The successful Environment and Sustainability Manager requires:
- Demonstrable environmental and sustainability experience within manufacturing, consultancy or any related sectors
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline, and preferably hold a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
- Experience with Environmental management systems e.g., ISO14001, waste management plans and ideally carbon and energy reporting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Driving licence and mobility is essential
